To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 好耐冇嚟呢度飲茶啦! 今日嚟到大失所望。雖然裝修過,燈光比以前更加光猛。茶壺、茶杯碗碟好精緻,有春日的氣息。瑤柱珍珠雞冇蛋黃已經冇咗吸引力,啲飯又唔似係煙韌,但係又乾身。菠蘿叉燒焗餐包賣相都幾得,酥皮都脆,不過少咗一份口感, 最離譜係入面的餡料,少到唔知點講。筍尖鮮蝦餃個皮唔得,一夾就散開,啲蝦有少少霉, 就算有辣椒醬都幫唔到幾多。鮑魚汁炆鳳爪鳳爪得幾隻,細細隻,花生就比較多。一口鮑魚撻底層嗰個酥皮係腍的,唔知點解個鮑魚的色咁黑?
