To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 今日舊同事約咗我嚟呢度一齊飲早茶,8:30飲到10:45,因為佢約咗早上11點喺附近做facial,順便交換生日禮物,我哋喺推來推去嘅點心車嗰度點左以下食物:1. 灌湯餃最好食,有津白菜膽同一粒大瑤柱,上湯一啲都唔肥!$462. 四寶雞扎用柚皮代替冬菇,舊同事自己喜歡食魚肚及用來捲着成個扎的腐皮,今次食埋塊抽皮,剩返一舊雞和一舊火腿俾我食埋,我自己也食了自己嗰份。$293. 柚皮蒸鳳爪都好食,但係我唔知我舊同事唔食雞腳,搞到我成碟食晒,佢淨係食咗一件柚皮。啲雞腳食得出係炸好之後浸左好短時間的水發大左少少才炆的,並唔係雪藏貨色。$294. 菜苗鮮蝦餃都唔錯,但係攞筷子夾嘅時候好黐筷子。$295. 我覺得馬拉糕太甜,又唔夠鬆,馬拉糕都係北角鳳城酒家嗰啲好食啲,不過面頭真係有瓜子肉架!$20鐵觀音茶好飲,每位$22。平均消費每位$96。
