Restaurant: Jashan Celebrating Indian Cuisine

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 「Jashan Celebrating Indian Cuisine 」晌中環屹立咗好多年,因為回顧番,約5年前都曾經同一班朋友嚟食過晚飯,睇番嗰次食評,總結喺食得盡興嘅一個夜晚。咁多種外國菜系,印度菜喺小弟其中一種喜愛嘅菜系,因為既有特色,又有個性。讀港大嘅表姨甥女考完晒試,就專登約佢過嚟中環食晏,眾所周知,中環食晏周圍都多人都不得了,揀「Jashan」就貪其位處荷里活道一帶,搵食嘅人相對少啲,可以慢慢坐,慢慢傾。晚市就散點菜式,而午市就以自助形式,供應時間為12:00pm-2:30pm,每位$138 + 10%,包一杯標準餐飲。其實,上到荷里活道一帶嘅餐廳,收費都喺咁上下。餐廳佔二樓全層,一出電梯門就喺餐廳。跟上次嚟環境有啲唔同,依家牆身喺以白色加碎花為主調,襯以深啡色梳化椅或木椅,掛有唔少現代派啲油畫,裝修較時尚摩登。最正喺安排坐晌近窗嘅卡位,既寬敞闊落,又放咗唔少咕,份外舒服。目測所見,有唔少鄉里幫襯,坐多陣已全場滿座,非常熱鬧,可見佢哋嘅印度菜水準應該唔差得去邊。Mango Lassi外面天氣開始變得炎熱,所以,既然餐飲有得揀甚有地道特色嘅Mango Lassi(芒果酸奶)

Mango Lassi

外面天氣開始變得炎熱,所以,既然餐飲有得揀甚有地道特色嘅Mango Lassi(芒果酸奶),當然喺揀佢啦。大大杯嘅芒果酸奶,以鮮芒果肉跟乳酪打成,入口有陣陣醒胃嘅乳酪酸香,又滲出濃郁而清甜嘅芒果味,口感豐厚「涼枕枕」,爽呀。

坐定定,飲咗兩啖芒果酸奶,喺時候介紹吓佢哋嘅自助食物有咩揀。食物分咗3張長枱擺放,第1張,見到啲沙律菜、特色醬就知大概喺啲前菜類。數一數(可能唔準架,因為有啲食物或名字都唔太識),計有紅腰豆蕃茄莎莎、胡椒脆餅、雜菜盤、雜豆盤、沙律菜、乳酪醬、青豆蓉、芒果醬、印式甜酸醬及雜菜辣醬。側邊就仲有Chicken Malai Tikka(印式烤雞)、Boti Kebab(雞肉卡巴)、Minty Roll(印式薄荷蔬菜卷,唔知可唔可以咁譯?)、Vegetable Tikki(蔬菜餅)。

第2張長枱要介紹嘅,喺比較主菜類嘅食物,計有Keema matar(免治肉青豆)、Butter Chicken(印式牛油雞)、Kadhai Paneer(辣印式芝士)、Corn Palak(粟米菠菜蓉)、Aloo Beans Masala(薯仔青豆馬沙拉)、Dal Tadka(扁豆咖喱)、Pulao Rice(印度炒飯)及Basmati Rice(印度皇飯)。

最後到枱所擺放嘅喺少少新鮮生果及印度甜品,老實講,印度甜品偏甜,口感亦怪怪,未必人人接受到。

未食自助餐食物前,侍應會先每枱客送上薯仔班戟餅,正名我就無問過,但見晌食物區有大廚即煎即送上俾客人。

除上述嘅班戟餅,仲會每枱自動送上一籃印度烤餅,唔使多介紹,大家都知道喺一陣用嚟蘸咖喱食啦。而烤餅口感煙韌,沾過咖喱,或配上豆蓉,就特別好食。

沙律、前菜

其實,計及以上兩樣咁澱粉質嘅嘢,都有一定嘅飽肚,所以,前後攞咗兩碟食物嚟試試,已經好足夠。第一碟就大多數喺啲沙律、前菜類,樣樣執啲,雜菜盤啲甘筍比較硬,而雜豆盤有啲鹹,其他嘅就好唔錯,最喜歡個乳酪醬,令人感覺好清爽,尤其依家啲悶熱天氣。

第二碟一睇就知喺以肉類主食居多,啲印式烤雞、牛油雞、粟米菠菜蓉好好食,甚具特色,配合埋啲印式烤餅,越食越滋味。

生果、甜點

生果就唔點講啦,都喺正正常常大路嘅新鮮水果,碟邊啡紅色嘅叫Gulab Jamun(蜜汁圓球),偏甜嘅就肯定啦,但口感軟軟腍腍,都唔錯;不過,小橙色兜仔嗰樣嘢就真喺唔多啱口味,似似哋一件鬆糕吸滿糖水咁。

離開時,先留意到近電梯嘅一面牆掛咗唔少獎狀,原來餐廳獲得唔少獎項,好似Master Chef、旅發局嘅優質服務獎……等等。

雖然話喺自助餐,但當然唔可以跟我哋平時晌酒店嗰啲嚟比,但叫做多種印度菜式都能夠一次過試到,加上環境舒服,招呼又好,想輕輕鬆鬆食餐有特色嘅午餐,「Jashan」都喺一個唔錯嘅選擇。
