To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 翡翠拉麵昔日在尖沙咀海港城,吃飯時段永遠是大排長龍。今天打算到餐廳懷緬一番。三人點了五個菜, 招牌小籠包 ,黃瓜卷 ,京蔥牛肉,擔擔麵和雲吞雞湯。小籠包仍然保持皮薄,包内豐富湯汁。可是涼拌黃瓜,過酸和太甜,感覺不很健康。至於京蔥了牛肉份量太少, 味道中規中矩。但是擔擔麵既不是正宗的川辣味,也不是改良港式的麻醬味道,感覺非常另類。最敗筆的是雲吞雞湯, 明明看到湯材,有雞件和金華火腿,卻没有一點鮮味,而且雲吞好像放了很久似的, 雲吞皮過淋了。個人感覺餐廳分店太多, 出品變得不穩定。 如果餐廳繼續經營,希望管理層能夠多抽查出品,確保穩定性。
