To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 這晚真不知吃什麼好,在這幾條街繞了個圈,不挑了,就這裏吧。點了兩個套餐,先來兩碗“菜干湯”,湯渣份量足,有金銀菜 、豬骨、紅蘿蔔、蜜棗等,豬骨也不是下欄貨,沒味精,甜,這幾天天氣十分乾燥,有菜乾湯,真的照顧周到,有心思。剛進門路過鄰座時,那碟白切雞,有雞髀,皮看起很嫩滑,是餐牌上最貴的兩款之一“沙薑雞”,但一上菜,我黑臉了整整一分鐘,一眼數得出,四塊雞胸加一隻雞翼,柴,多骨,72塊,值得給個“哭”!“涼瓜叉燒炒蛋”,正常多了,味道、賣相都可以,只是涼瓜+叉燒這個配搭,有“用賣剩蔗做套餐”的感覺!實在不夠蔬菜,多點了一個“椒絲腐乳炒通菜”,賣相不錯,菜還翠綠,但腐乳味不足,辣椒絲又多了點,合格而已。總體說,那沙薑雞太離譜,無法高抬貴手。
