I wanted a cup of coffee and came here to find that the original coffee shop located here had closed. It was now replaced by Apostrophe Coffee. Might as well try something new.You order by scanning a QR code provided on the receipt when you go in that was quite userfriendly. Menu is in English. They have no 10% service charge. Menu offers a variety of coffee and non coffee drinks along with the usual cafe style food. But it was the canele that caught my eye. Not that many offer those and this place offered three flavors: orignal, Earl Gray and matcha.
I ordered a latte ($45). The coffee was fine. A nice strong roast. Smelled lovely and had a nice latte art.
And of course, the item that peaked my interest? The canele ($38). I chose the Earl Gray version. This was very crunchy indeed. The menu did not lie.
And inside was a nice pudding-like texture. Soft and mushy. The taste of Earl Gray came through wonderfully. It also wasn't too sweet as well. Quite nice.
A nice little break from the busy Causeway Bay. The place isn't busy so that gave it a nice quiet atmosphere. Will be back.
