If there's one thing that I love more than classy restaurants, it's classy restaurants that give back to the community. Having heard of La Parole a few times in passing, I had no idea that they were actually a social enterprise until recently. Fittingly, 'La Parole' is French for 'speech', and the restaurant donates its profits to NGOs in Hong Kong supporting children with speech disabilities. Fittingly, 'La Parole' is French for 'speech', and the restaurant donates its profits to NGOs in Hong Kong supporting children with speech disabilities. Not only do you get to enjoy their delicious food, you're also helping people in need, which enhances the entire dining experience. It's truly heartwarming to know that there are restaurants out there who are willing to partake in such charity.
Anyone who knows me knows that I love bread, but I'm extremely picky about it. But the complimentary bread here is really delicious and I ended up asking for seconds!
Priced at $438 per person, we had the 6-Course Meal, which included their signature French delicacies.
Hokkaido Scallops - these Scallops are served in two ways. One is raw and the other is seared. You can also dip the raw one in soy sauce and wasabi as provided at the side.
Stuffed Portobello Mushroom - this large portobello mushroom was stuffed with tons of cheese, shrimp and squid.
Mushroom Truffle Soup - this is where I had to ask for seconds for the bread because the soup matched it so well. It was fragrant and had a lot of ingredients. The diced mushrooms added to the texture of the creamy soup.
Pan Seared Halibut - this was definitely THE BEST dish of the night because the Halibut had such a delicious crispy skin compared to its tender and soft meat. It was coupled with flavourful tomato sauce, which just made it even more perfect.
Two Choose One (Baked Duck Breast or Grilled Steak)
Baked Duck Breast - aesthetically extravagant, the duck breast was tender and juicy.
Grilled Steak - Imported from France, the steak is deliciously grilled and the meat is super tender and tasty. I really recommend this dish.
Apple pie - to round off the course, dessert is served in the form of an apple pie with vanilla ice cream. The pie was crunchy and crumbly, and the apples were mushy and soft.
Tea or Coffee - last but not least, what is any course without some tea or coffee to wash out your palate.
The food here is wonderful, and so is the environment and service. To top it all off, it's a charitable organisation which makes it even better!
