I've always wanted to try Asiri. It was a place that served Hokkaido food. Or at least has a Hokkaido theme. The owner had traveled all over Hokkaido and you can see from the restaurant all the knick knacks he collected from his trips. There is even a mural on the wall of the places he's been to.During lunch time, they have a lunch menu that includes a main, rice, soup and salad. The salad was a Japanese potato salad. It was quite good. Very creamy with that wonderful taste of Kewpie.
The soup was a rich chicken broth. I'm not sure how I feel about this as it seemed more like base for something instead of soup.
Boyfriend had the pork soup curry ($118) as the chicken was sold out when we arrived. This was ok. The soup didn't have much curry taste and seemed more like an onion soup. He felt a bit disappointed.
I had the karaage ($98). I did like this. The chicken was moist and tender. The coating was well seasoned and crisp, not too oily. One of the better karaage I've had in Hong Kong.
Over all the food was ok. I did like what I ordered but the soup curry wasn't that good as we've had much better in Hong Kong. Unsure if we'd be back as nothing really attracted us to return. I guess I was a bit disappointed.
