Mui Kee was a place we used to go to with a group of friends. It was inexpensive and it was like dai pai dong but with air conditioning! But times change and we moved on. And so did Mui Kee to this present location. Boyfriend and I walked by it for lunch and thought .... why not revisit it again?We had never been here for lunch but apparently they have lunch sets under $100 that come with a drink and the daily soup. The minute you sit down, they place a bowl of soup in front of you. Which means you can''t get out of here. The daily soup that day was a chicken feet and pork soup. Simple yet good.
We shared two plates of food. The first is the deep fried salt and pepper squid with rice ($55). A generous dose of spicy spices were sprinkled on top. Perfectly fried and well seasoned, the squid was not over cooked. A good generous mound of rice was provided.
Stir Fried Noodles with Beef and Peppers ($52) as also a generous portion. A bit spicy as chilis were mixed in. The sauce was savory and there was a generous amount of it. The noodles were not overcooked. The beef was very VERY soft.
Food was fairly good and a generous portion. No wonder majority of people dining here looked like they worked in the area. A fair price and food came out very fast. Boyfriend was pleased so we'd probably be back.
