Just a Googlemaps search and saw there are a few cafes on Po Tuck Street. First I had to say, I walked past and was intended to head to ARF but the owner greeted me with a "hello" with a smile, I know this is a good sign 😊I was introduced to his signature Irish Coffee when I'm usually a flat white fan. I was introduced to his signature Irish Coffee when I'm usually a flat white fan. Didn't disappoint, not the usual liqueur taste that I used to hate. I also ordered pasta and to be honest, I hesitated for a second that "Wait, this is a cafe. Will pasta be a wise choice?" and the carbonara I had is just as good as you can expect from a usual "western restaurant" but then, this is a cafe hey, so I'm more than wowwed. I asked owner if he had studied cookery somewhere, he said no but he definitely appreciated my appreciation.
Most importantly, it is a cool little cafe that is tucked away on a quiet street along Hill Road near HKU without the heavy traffic, and one doesn't get this quiet space anywhere (though there is renovation happening in the neighbourhood but yeah, you get the idea) especially in a busy city like Hong Kong. A chat with the owner, I even respect his passion for what he does. It is all about the service and the heart that one pours in that keeps customers coming back. I definitely will 🙂
