Walking down the sky-blue narrow staircase into the tea shop, I found myself in a modest but homey room that it almost felt like I was back in a small town in Scotland. It was very tranquil there on a lazy Sunday and there were posters on the wall of the neverending debate of whether to pour milk or tea first.

Seated at the far end of the tea shop, we were offered a tea menu and a food menu. Since we went during lunch hours, there were a few options for lunch set of sandwich, quiche, and baked potatos with complimentary tea.

There were different kinds of interesting tea, and finally we ordered Highland Toffee and Grand Old Duke of York. We were advised to use the hourglass to wait for 3 minutes before we poured the tea, and I loved my Highland Toffee! It was a mix of a scent of vanilla and roasted caramel, and the aroma stayed while I drank the tea.

I ordered a Tomato & Bacon Quiche and he had a Baked Potato with Smoked Salmon & Cream CheeseMy quiche was soft and it was not too oily like the usual quiches in other cafes. Just that the pastry part was a little too thick that I avoided eating it in the end, to save room for more food! I was not a huge fan of potato but i had to admit it did look quite appealing as well.

After the 'main', we were quite tempted to get their Homemade Scones. We ordered both raison and plain, which came along with strawberry jam, clotted cream and butter. They were freshly baked every morning and were much BIGGER than the usual ones and a little softer as well. I could feel the butter from every bite and it felt GOOD! I personally liked the raisin one better. haha and the owner told us a customer just bought half a dozen home!

It was an enjoyable time, as if we were outside of the city to catch a breath, and to feel life. Will surely come again for other sweets like the carrot & beetroot cake and the granny smith apple pie!
