Fried Chicken: Crispy and Flavorful
The star of the show is, of course, the fried chicken. I opted for the sweet and spicy sauce, and was pleasantly surprised by the generous portion. The chicken was crispy and flavorful, and the sauce was the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. It's a true blessing for chicken lovers like myself.
Kimbab: Fresh and Delicious
The kimbab was a pleasant surprise. It was clearly freshly made, arriving hot and bursting with flavor. Unlike some restaurants that pre-make their kimbab, CHICKEN CHIKO's version was made to order, ensuring a delicious, fresh experience. The filling was succulent and the rice perfectly seasoned, making for a satisfying and flavorful bite.
Kimchi Pancake: Unique and Shareable
The kimchi pancake was a unique twist on the classic dish. Instead of one large pancake, it comes in three individual portions, making it perfect for sharing. While not overly crispy (which I prefer), the pancake was flavorful and well-executed. The three-pancake format is a great way to ensure everyone gets a generous portion, without the mess of breaking a large pancake. The sauce was equally a great cherry on top to the dish!
Fish Soup: Rich and Comforting
The fish soup was a truly satisfying and comforting end to the meal. The staff thoughtfully provided a gas stove to keep the soup warm, ensuring it remained delicious throughout the meal. The rich and flavorful broth was packed with egg, fish cake, and a generous amount of Korean glass noodles. The generous portion was perfect for sharing, and I found myself happily slurping down every last drop of the broth, fish cake, and egg.
Overall Impression: A Must-Try Korean Restaurant
CHICKEN CHIKO is a fantastic Korean restaurant offering high-quality food at reasonable prices. The generous portions and delicious flavors make it a perfect spot for a satisfying meal with friends. The restaurant's commitment to freshness and authentic flavors, coupled with its welcoming atmosphere, make it a must-try for anyone seeking a taste of Korea in Hong Kong. I look forward to returning soon, hopefully with some Korean beer to complement the amazing food!
