Highly recomended by a friend of mine, we decided to try this hot pot place in Tin Hau. Frankly speaking, food quality is above average and yet the poor service quality discourage me for a second attempt. We made a phone booking at 7:30pm and we managed to arrive on time. The waiter leaded us to the second floor and ask us to sit at a rather small table by the corner. (the setting was set up for 2 person and yet we have booked for a 3 person table instead) The waiter then asked us whether we would mind sitting at that table and thus I told him that if possible, pls try to arrange a bigger table for us. However, his reply was absolutely annoying. He said "this is the only table left". It would be much nicer if he could have told us in the first place that due to fully booking, he could only arrange that table for us at that very moment and sorry for any inconvenience. Why bother asking if nothing could be done in the very first place???????
Well then, we sat down and order our food and another incident came up. We have ordered a fish dish - swim bladder. Without any advice or warning, the waiter just place the dish on the table and thus we start to put the swim bladder into the hot pot. Suddenly one of the swim bladder busrt and the hot soup splash all over my forehead. (thank god it was not over my eyes) Imgaine the hot pot is boiling and thus the soup is really hot. I screamed and I am sure the whole floor can hear. I ran out and asked one of the waitress where is the lady room and she told me it is on the ground floor. I rushed down and cool my face off and then later learned that there were 2 small toliets right next to our table at the back.
1. This is absolutely the fault of the restaurant not to warn us on the swim bladder. They could have pierce the swim baldder for us or told us to do so before putting them into the hot pot.
2. If the waiter or waitress would have more helpful if they could have direct me to the nearest restroom instead of telling me to ran downstair.
I would not tolerate such kind of services and this place certainly not recomended for family gathering especially if you intend to bring along your young ones.
