📍Gin Teppanyaki & Sake

Learning from my last experience, I made sure that my booking is with 奇師傅 and it was surely an amazing night of teppanyaki wonders.

I love that Gin Teppanyaki is really seafood based. Their dinner omakase set includes 10 seafood items, goose liver, Kagoshima pork or A4 wagyu beef, fried rice, vegetables and dessert.

The 10 seafood items all were uniquely cooked with different sauces to go with. Never was there a repetition of the flavor combination.

To name a few of my favorites, which include the 酸菜魚 (the fish skin was so crispy), 煎馬友配粥 (crispy fish and the congee was so 棉 and flavorful), 明太子煎白子(made it a lot easier to accept the texture of 白子), shark fin and abalone soup (first time having teppanyaki shark fin, quite interesting texture. The soup was phenomenal! Love the few pieces of noodles!), the chawanmushi (love the intense dried scallop flavor and it’s silky smooth), the fried rice (fried rice using mayonnaise instead of eggs with pickled veggies and a perfectly fried egg on top) and of course the signature brûlée toast (all topped with caramalised sugar and you can dip it with their hojicha ice cream which is 🔥).

Seriously! Not a single item that I dislike this time!

I also love the variety of condiments to go with each piece. Sometimes it is wasabi, sometimes it’s kombu salt. They even had a frozen pineapple to go with the goose liver as palate cleanser. How thoughtful!

I rarely travel out of HK Island and having me voluntarily going all the way to Yuen Long speaks a lot about this teppanyaki place! Give it a try!

Price: HK$1550 pp (dinner)

Revisit: 10/10
