Went to the flagship restaurant and was full (despite the current protest situation and lack of tourists). The waiter took us to this new branch just down the street. It is a much bigger and “nicer” place. Five of us were tucked away in the corner with privacy and not having to pay for a private room. Food was just as good and the service was 100 times better. The pan fried chive dumplings were divine. The skin was soft and a bit chewy, and inside was stuffed with tasty chives. The deep fried tofu was crispy on the outside and soft inside. The Chiu Chow style oyster congee was superb. There were plenty of baby oysters and cooked just right - tender, juicy and soft. The stir fried morning glory was crisp and not oily. The oyster pancake was also very good - not too much flour and oysters not overcooked. The “sa cha” beef with flat rice noodles were flavorful. The only dish I thought was okay was the fishball seaweed soup. The green bean soup dessert was average. All and all, it was an enjoyable evening for my out of town friend and her family.

I will go to this relatively new branch going forward. Much better ambience and service. Need to make reservation next time !! Both locations were fully booked on a week night ... I was lucky to get a table.
