With only slightly over $300hkd, you can enjoy a fulfilling lunch prepared by the Japanese chef. Every single piece of its pork is carefully selected and placed into the low temperature frying oil in order to retain the tenderness , moistness and massive flavours of the pork.
Once the heat has spread evenly throughout the meat, you will be able to observe a hint of Sakura pink on the surface, this is also the reason why the restaurant is named Sakura. Together with its crunchy and snowy skin on the outside made from sugar and fine breadcrumbs, this is the white tonkatsu.
It has been a hectic morning and I didnt even have time for breakfast, so I decided to go for a rather big meal with pork, oyster and crab cake . It’s served with 10 dipping sauces , mixed grains , cabbage salad, pork miso soup and pickles .
It’s so much fun to mix and match with all the sauces, was so drawn to the yellow mustard soy sauce that simply elevates the texture and umami of everything. The entire experience with the white tonkatsu was satisfying , I love how delicate and light it is and I won’t feel stuffed after eating .
