Here was what happened to me.

1. On a Sunday we waited for 45 minutes without complaints at the table, only to discover my order has not been taken (5 orders taken for 6 people)

2. We waited another 5 minutes for the waitress to come back, with the order on her hand to prove that I didn’t order for myself

3. The waitress was irritated by me insisting to have what I ordered and asking for a takeaway (kids have finished their meals and we need to move to the beach). She turned back saying “I will not arrange table for you next time.”

4. As if this will not hurt us enough, she come back again, and said “pay your bill now, I will not serve you today. Please leave.” So at 2:15 ish after arriving this beach for one hour, I have nothing to eat and have no where to go to as this is the only restaurant on this beach.

5. I waited at the table for another 30 minutes, try to calm down first and communicate with this waitress. She rejected at least five times even after I apologized for insisting it was her fault. Her final words:”I will not accept being forced to do things. And I have no interest talking to you.”(but she remembered to make sure we paid our other 5 dishes)

Well, if you call serving customers what they ordered “forcing”, there might be better jobs than operating a restaurant.

Clearly I was not the only victim in this place. The family in the next table showed their empathy and said she missed their orders too, and I see quite a few people running around in front the kitchen to follow for their overrun (or missed?) orders.

I never thought as a customer I would be bullied by a restaurant in Hong Kong, but that was what happens in this only restaurant on a remote beach, when the only English speaking stuff is a girl run by her teenager emotion and beyond reason. I have to finish my hiking afterwards with empty stomach. Take my words people.
