Bad customer service

Went there with my boyfriend for lunch; food was nothing special for the price they're charging. I asked for a glass of ice water when my mouth was burning with the spiciness of the noodles we'd ordered; to my surprise the waiter told us they don’t serve cold tap water and he'd have to charge us $5 for the ice!! Went there with my boyfriend for lunch; food was nothing special for the price they're charging. I asked for a glass of ice water when my mouth was burning with the spiciness of the noodles we'd ordered; to my surprise the waiter told us they don’t serve cold tap water and he'd have to charge us $5 for the ice!! We reluctantly agreed to it but I was furious with the way the waiter would prioritize that $5 over the comfort of their customers!! (Mind you; my mouth was burning with tears rolling in my eyes, particularly dying just for a glass of cold water to take out the heat) It was more like; I don’t care if you’re suffering, pay up first!!!

Although later when he came to us with the bill; he didn’t charge us the $5, but honestly speaking, if he hadn’t insisted on the $5, we would’ve left him with more than a $5 tips anyway. But as expected, we didn’t leave them a penny for their “service” and we will never go there again.

I don't understand how some of these restaurants still manage to survive with such lousy customer service + quality of food, especially during the current economical market downturn!!
