I've been a regular at Cafe Ecos in TH for quite some time but have never tried Poppy's (apparently they belong to the same family of resturaunts). I must say my first impression was a very pleasant one, as one enters the resturant she is immediately smittened by its charming decor, though not suffocating by any means, she finds a good balance of comfort and class. Reminded me of the coziness typical of French countryside "cabins". It was perfect to dine there with some of my colleagues/friends

It was perfect to dine there with some of my colleagues/friends who liked to talk business but in an intimate setting.

The food was close to some of the best I've tasted in HK!
maybe I'm slightly biased as I'm just as particular of mood as that of taste. However, I must say, even without it's decor, I thought the menu offered enough variety to please even the most keen of tastebuds. I began with the ceaser salad: the right amount of cheesiness and the vege's was fresh with crunch. Followed by a risotto dish which I was surprised to find that it actually tasted like what risottos are suppposed to taste like! (trust me, I 've had some bad experiences with risotto) : Hot, Creamy, and very tasty, not overly starched like some that I've tried, though I would've liked some more cheesiness on mine. Finally, the apple crumble. (I've been wanting to write a review just for the crumble alone. Probably should have experimented with other deserts but its my favorite dish at Cafe Eos so I couldn't resist). Same high quality I find at Eos, crumble was fresh with caramalised apple, it had enough substance and wasn't too flakly. Complemented by freezing cold vinilla ice cream, the contrast of hot and cold is surreal. I could have a dozen of them!!!

Overall, it was a terrific experience for my friends and I, one cannot help but to feel easily connected with they company while dinning there. A great people place that does not sacrafice on taste. Two thumbs up.
Other Info. : Definitly marking it as one of my new favorites and cannot wait to try the new Eso they're opening in CWB:D
