While it is traditionally made with egg, sweet chili sauce, cilantro, scallion and Chinese fried dough, they are now doing savoury crepes out of the box, such as spicy chicken, peking roasted duck, Taiwan sausage, as well as a few special drinks and desserts.

Made upon order, the jianbing starts with a spread of thick batter on the paddle, then an egg is cracked onto its, topped with finely chopped scallions, meat fillings, and is folded in half with hoisin sauce on the back to taste. It is packed in a paper bag for you to eat on the go.

The cumin lamb jianbing has a notable chili sauce, with strong cumin flavor and gamy taste from the lamb. The extra fried breadstick added is no longer crunchy when serve.

Similarly, the roasted duck jianbing is also made with a mungbean flour batter, but it is indeed lacking flavor as there are not enough Hoisin sauce and roasted duck meat. I have heard that people queued at least half an hour for this jianbing, but honestly, I don’t think this crepe is worth the time.
