Last Saturday was the first time this year in HK to have typhoon 8 hoisted that lasted the whole day. We didn’t know if the typhoon would die down but decided to hang out at K11 anyways. We already bought tickets the day before for James Bond’s "No time to die". All retail shops not open. Since we were already at K11, we thought it would be a good chance to get a table at Chaat because of T8. We were placed on the waitlist. We thought we we had a high chance to get a call after the show, but sad

We thought we we had a high chance to get a call after the show, but sadly no call. We were determined to get a table so decided to walk in and try our luck. We noticed Chaat had converted the lounge and bar area to dining as well, plus taking the private room or rooms at the Bayfare Social. That's how good business has been for them. To our surprise, the familiar senior staff members like Ramone and Zoe still remembers us even though we haven't been there for a while. They still remember our favorite dishes and also that we prefer all non veg dishes to be served at the same time for prayers. Wow!! A fat thumbs up to the Chaat front line team! 👍👍👍❤️ Marissa from Mexico, our table server of the night did an excellent job too.

There's a few new dishes on the menu, so we thought to give it a try based on the recommendations by Marissa. We ordered Lamb dum biryani and lobster tikka as main to share. For the veggie dish, we had dal makhani and Punjabi pyaaz. Punjabi pyaaz is a pickled onions prepared with masala spices, we were amazed of how thinly sliced the onions were. The black lentil gravy went really well with the crispy skin that was used as a cover to bake the lamb biryani. We kinda regret not ordering our usual lamb chops when we saw our neighbours chomping down on it. However, we changed our mind once we had the first bite of the delicious lobster. The meat was so fresh, sweet and lean. We loved it! Oh, we also added an appetiser which was the jackfruit samosa. This dish was replaced by the lamb samosa. We couldn't taste any different. It tasted just as good.

We had a great night dining at Chaat. Food was consistent and still one of the best Indian food we’ve had in HK. The service team is incredible as usual. Hopefully we will be able to book a table without being placed on the waiting list…again on our next visit.
