Wow this exceeded all expectations!First, this place is just beautiful. From the unparalleled amazing view, to one of the best outdoor patios in HK, to the chic modern roomy interior decor, it blows my mind that this place is in North Point, which is pretty old-school HK. After the Hyatt management change, Cruise pivoted to a Southeast Asian menu. Everything was really top-notch and yummy. We got one of each of the lunch sets, and chose 1) codfish 2) bulgogi (server told us those were the best picks, as opposed to the chicken curry/spicy shrimp options).
Food from a 4/5-star hotel is just innately different from food you get at a average normal restaurant. It’s just presented much nicer, tastes delicious, and just...feels nicer. That’s how this was. The scallops and shrimp salad appetizers were perfect, as were the entrees and dessert. It’s just classy high-end food that tastes good.
Critiques: entrees came out somewhat slow even though restaurant was 1/3-half full. They were made-to-order though, as opposed to factory line assembly as is at many lunch spots. Some staff were definitely newbie and very green (manager was scolding her right in front of us).
Great value IMO - $178 and $198 for each set (drink, appetizer, entree, dessert) - the entrees by themselves were around $130+ on the a la carte menu. Just a really enjoyable lunch in an awe-inspiring environment overlooking the harbor - what more can you ask for?
