Went up the back entrance into a garden that looks great for outdoor drinks, then straight into the indoor restaurant which had a green leafy decor and casual dining environment. Had the scallops, langoustine on toast, scotch egg and wood ear mushroom risotto to start, beef wellington, finishing off with desserts (we tried ALL of them!!) - apple pie, blueberry & oat crumbela nd strawberry & sherry trifle.The scallops had a very nice black pudding crumb that was yummy, risotto had several intere
The scallops had a very nice black pudding crumb that was yummy, risotto had several interesting layers to the dish, beef wellington was nicely done with the pastry crust on the outside, a nice sauce and smooth potato mash. The crumble was the best of the 3 desserts, everything was polished off!
We had a chirpy maitre d' who decided to help us with our alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks selection, we just told him the flavours we liked and he came back with several refreshing creations (not exactly sure what they were, but good!).
An enjoyable relaxing dinner.
