Had lunch with boyfriend and his sister after going to PMQ for the 1600 pandas. After not sure what to eat, we chose here. Located upstairs in a building at the wet market, is a restaurant that serves Indian and Nepalese cuisine. For $80 during lunch hour, they serve a value buffet meal of various curries and other Indian favorites like tandoori chicken, fish tikka, etc. There is also rice, salad, soup of the day and Indian dessert. For $80 during lunch hour, they serve a value buffet meal of various curries and other Indian favorites like tandoori chicken, fish tikka, etc. There is also rice, salad, soup of the day and Indian dessert. You also get your choice of naan (original, butter, garlic or potato) and one drink.
Service is friendly. The owner treats you more as her guest than a customer. They also continually refill the buffet table. Not bad for a small restaurant.
Decor is a bit interesting with the walls and ceilings painted to make it seem like you're in India. They also have a TV showing nonstop Bollywood dance numbers.
I had heat exhaustion from the heat outside so this mango lassi was a God send. Lots of mango. Though not as thick as other lassis.
We asked for garlic naan and potato naan. I liked the garlic more. Naan was soft though a bit oily.
Variety of buffet items were quite good. Tandoori chicken was moist. Fish tikka was cooked just right though a bit too salty.
I can't remember what this is but it's an Indian dessert. It tasted like a sponge soaked in sugar syrup. I didn't like it. Way too sweet for me.
Food was ok. A bit too salty. But pretty good value for lunch if you are in Central. While waiting for the elevator, I saw they had a takeaway lunch box price of $40. That's pretty cheap!
