Upon arriving, I took a look at the cakes. They looked picture perfect so I had to stop to give it a try. Cakes upon take away are $55 but if you sit down, there is 10% service charge.
This is a passionfruit, mango and coconut cake. It looked beautiful. I was so happy until I took a bite. The cake (which was a sponge cake) was so dry, it literally crunched when I bit into it. It was hard as a rock. I felt I was eatin stale left over cake. Why Fauchon? WHY? It's too bad as it looked beautiful. The taste of the mango/passionfruit creat was delicious. There was a some strands of coconut. But the sponge was horrible. Coffee was uneventful. I was so disappointed as I expected something so beautiful to at least taste good. But it was probably the worst cake I' ever had. A far cry from Paris. Will not be back.
