With the past week chockablock with joyous celebrations, including the Lunar New Year, Valentine’s Day, and the birthday of a family member, we placed a booking for a lunch buffet at the Renaissance Harbour View Hotel at least a month before. The buffet was packed with people dressed up in red / purple in celebration of a heartwarming family gathering during the CNY, there was also a long queue whenever you go. Everyone was very disciplined and never forgot to put on a mask before they left thei
Once the session began, most people rushed towards the counter serving Japanese seafood, sushi, and sashimi. Needless to say, the seafood especially the spider crabs, brown crabs, and the sea snails were my favourite as they were the freshest and sweetest I had ever tried. The spicy dip you could match with the seafood even made the experience more sublime.
The savour section had a range of CNY celebrative food on top of what usually had on offer, everything was cooked to-a-tee and they were served by congenial chefs behind the counter. I had the impression that all the staff are very passionate about their jobs and they are there to cater to needs of the customers to their best of their ability. Besides gourmet cuisine, the chefs didn’t overlook the quality of the desserts. Their desserts although may not be as high-end as those served at other more expensive buffets, I was pretty satisfied with the variety and standard of the desserts. In case you’re not aware, they serve Haagen Daz ice cream and I personally think they’re the best ice cream brand of all times.
The hotel also very kindly prepared a petite birthday cake, we all had an impeccable time there. Considering the price for the buffet, everything was done at an incredible quality. We will be back again!
