The lunch menu is in Chinese only. Though they have an a la carte menu that is in English and Chinese. The lunch set is under $200 and you get an appetizer, the daily soup, dessert and drink along with a choice of main.

Boyfriend had the Pan Fried Pork and Taro Patties ($128). It was served with a bowl of rice. There is the option to choose brown or white rice.

There were three pan fried patties that were stuffed with a lot of soft taro mixed with a bit of firm pork meat to give it texture. The exterior was crisp and it was served with Chinkiang vinegar.

Dessert was a sour plum jelly that I loved a lot as it was like a palate clenser.

The soup was a double boiled soup of chicken, cashew nuts and barley. Rich and savory, the soup was kept hot as itwas heated under a tea light candle.

I had the Steamed Garoupa with Garlic and Shredded Rice Rolls Cooked on a Lotus Leaf ($168). Soysauce was provided for seasoning.

The fish was delicious. Perfectly cooked and smooth as silk. The garlic gave it a good amount of extra  flavour. The shredded rice rolls were slippery and not overly soft. I've never had something like this so I loved it.

I found the appetizer to be a little bit different than boyfriend's. I had zucchini and the sauce was a spicy yet flavoured with sesame oil so it was more fragrant in taste. Sesame seeds were also sprinkled on top.

The soup was also a surprise. Usually places that offer a soup of the day, the soup is the same for everyone. But here they offer another type of soup! I had a double boiled soup with conch shell, Chinese yam, golgi berries and pork. This was more stronger in taste and felt like the type of soup you usually get at banquets.

As we were leaving, we noticed they offered afternoon tea sets for only $68 that include a main and drink. That is a fairly good deal. The staff also opened the windows and set up a table there, making the atmosphere more casual. Apparently, in the afternoon, they make this area  pet friendly so people can bring their dogs here while they dine.

The food was quite good and a very well balanced set for the price charged. The best was the soup as it was better than a lot of places that offer Chinese soup sets. Will definitely be back and a good option for lunch in the area.
