We planned to have lunch first before going to Yau Ma Tei library to borrow books. We decided to have lunch at 潮味莊as we have sudden craving for Chiu Chow food. It was located at Woosung Street, in between of Yau Ma Tei and Jordan MTR.Sauce, seasoning and utensils were provided at every table for us to use. We ordered iced coffee and iced mixed coffee with tea. They were smooth and milky, with strong coffee taste.
Sliced fishcake and beef ball with noodles - Soup was clear and rice noodles was soft and smooth. Beef ball was very chewy and juicy, able to know that it was handmade. Sliced fishcake was chewy and juicy as well.
Oyster and minced pork porridge - The chef was generous with the portion, served in a huge bowl. There were alot of oyster and minced pork in it, with the oyster smooth and juicy. Porridge was chewy, with pepper provided to enhance the flavour.
Deep fried shrimp wantons - It was deep fried till the skin was thin in texture and crispy and the fillings inside was chewy and juicy, with sweet and spicy sauce provided to dip onto it.
Sliced marinated goose - Goose was very chewy and juicy, absorbing the essence of the marinated sauce. Lettuce was provided at the bottom, which was crunchy.
Chiu Chow style grey mullet - Fish was served huge and long in size, with the chef helping us to separate the bone and skin away. Fish meat was steamed till soft and smooth, able to taste the freshness. Sauce was provided to dip onto it, which was flavourful.
