After tea at MO we wanted to have some dai pai dong food...but for some reason the one i wanted to go to was closed. So we walked a bit further and after reading their menu we decided to go for it. Fish Masala
The chinese waiter asked whether we wanted it little/medium/very spicy. I was quite surprised as masala is not a spicy curry at all, and normally I order indian curries according to their name because I know the relevant spice levels of each. Anyway, my friend opted for little spicy but it was more medium spicy in my opinion. Fish and potatoes were plentiful and the fillet was served in large chunks and not bad at all.
Prawn Vindaloo
Vindaloo is one of the most spiciest Indian curries. But again, I was asked what level of spice I wanted, so i chose Medium, and again it was spicier than the level I asked for. I could hardly use my sauce for the chapati as it was really too spicy. The sauce also lacked the tangy and tomato flavour I expected from a vindaloo. It was quite watery and tasted very similar to the fish masala sauce....
Chapati
Apart from being less puffy than the naan and a little chewier in texture it looked like the naan. Not like the chapati I've had at Spice restaurant (knutsford) at all.

Not to sound repetitive but again it had lots of black specks like the chapati...naan should be cream white in colour and even more puffier from the air bubbles created whilst rolling the dough. I must say this bread was huge though.
Morning glory
I asked for morning glory but the waiter said they had only lettuce left. So i said lettuce would be fine. Moments later they came out with a plate of morning glory and said they actually had a bit left.... quite nice of them, i thought. Anyway i proceeded to try a piece...and it was inedible. Severely undercooked, it was impossible to chew and did not have any taste other than oil.
All in all, this is not a bad place for curries that have been severely tailored by the Chinese chefs here. If you are looking for indian curries that have a clear distinct difference between each curry base - i.e. authentic, and not just distinct based on their spiciness levels, I would not recommend here. Try the many other indian restaurants in Soho / LKF instead!
