As a chocolate monster, I have been dying to this Black as Chocolate out using 75% Belgium dark chocolate mousse.Since I came to the shop in Taikoo, I found out that they are not selling a small 2” inch version for only $48 each! Compared to their $3xx-$4xx 6” cake, the 2” one maybe suitable for 1-2 people who want to try their cakes out without over-indulging. They have original, strawberry, banana, and hazelnut flavour and I have decided to try the mini banana and hazelnut flavours.Caramel Ban

Caramel Banana Chocolate Cake 2” ($48)
The smooth chocolate cake was glazed with chocolate sauce and topped with caramel sauce in spiral shape. After cutting into it, we found some very ripe banana layered in the middle of two chocolate sponge cake like.

The chocolate taste was really intense from the thick and rich chocolate sauce, yet the banana flavour was still prominent. Since the cake was made with dark chocolate therefore it was not too overly sweetened at all.

Hazelnut Chocolate Cake 2” ($48)
The hazelnut chocolate cake was topped with some crispy flakes on top which gave a very crunchy texture when biting into the cake.

Once cutting into it, we found that it was different from the banana one because it has no nuts in the filing. The hazelnut was believed to be combined with the chocolate cream spreader in between two sponge cake and gave only a very subtle nutty flavour.

By comparing two cakes, the banana one definitely delivered a more fruity and stronger flavours than the hazelnut one. We would rather prefer the hazelnut one to have some crushed nuts for us to chew rather than a all the way smooth and soft cake.
