I was glad that I ordered the salad instead of the soup which was just sweet corn soup. This Salmon Tataki & Thai Asparagus Salad with Shiso Salsa had two pieces of perfectly cooked salmon which smelt so good of having been seared yet still rare inside. The Thai asparagus was super fresh while the other veggies were fresh and well dressed with oil. It was quite a nice appetiser.

The bread plate was such a good deal as there were three types at a cost of just $10+10%. There were a mini croissant, a thin cracker and a slice of French baguette. They had all been warmed before serving. The mini croissant was so soft and buttery. I could eat it without adding any butter. The cracker was fresh and crispy. Even the baguette was a bit warm and went great with the butter.

One of the sets we ordered was Grilled New Zealand Lamb Chop with Potato & Vegetable. You could choose to go with rice or pasta instead. The lamb chop were tender and cooked pretty well, while we asked for medium for the lamb chop. There was no unpleasant flavour of lamb at all. It smelt pretty good of having been grilled. We wonder whether it had been grilled by charcoal. Well done! The accompanying black pepper sauce was tasty too. The potato pieces were super hot and almost burnt my mouth. Other vegetables on the side included broccolis, cauliflowers and carrots and they were fresh.

The other main we had ordered was Portabello Mushroom Pipe Rigate with Cheese, Black Truffle Sauce. The portion of the pipe rigate was huge! There were loads of mushrooms, sweet peppers and onions. Great for vegetarians! I particularly liked the cheese on top which had solidified and was so elastic when I was trying to eat it. There was sufficient sauce to make sure that all the pasta was well covered, yet you wouldn’t find that it was overly greasy.

As both of us craved some heavy desserts, we decided to upgrade our sets to get two desserts on their main menu.

The Chocolate Fondant with Strawberry Ice Cream was presented so pleasantly! The chocolate fondant was done very well with chocolate lava flowing out. There were quite a few pieces of real strawberry fruits in the ice cream scoop. You could choose to have vanilla ice-cream rather than strawberry.

The Chocolate & Banana Crumble was boiling hot again! There were loads of crumbles and bananas yet the amount of chocolate sauce was appropriate so that the whole thing wasn’t too sweet or heavy.

Both of us ordered hot lemon water to clear our tongues after the heavy desserts. They were included in the sets.

In short, the quality of the food was quite nice that both of us were satisfied with all dishes, from starters at the beginning to desserts at the end. Prices were reasonable too for such a big feast.
