This was on our list of places to try (as their original Tokyo location is Michelin rated and they just opened up in HK). We came here on a cold, wet, winter day. The atmosphere is quite nice, but a slight walk up to LKF. Let's jump into the food. Let's jump into the food. We ordered a 2 of the beef sukiyaki set as recommended by the host, and then 2 kaisen don sets as well as I was craving it. Our host said we were brave for eating a cold lunch on a cold day, haha. The don set was quite good. The fish was very fresh and the cuts were sliced well, not too large or small and there was good variety. The scallops were the best part. Also, the rice wasn't bad either. The wagyu beef sukiyaki was actually quite delightful. The soup was flavorful without being overwhelming or too salty/sweet, which is what I was hoping for. The beef was also so tender and had a good bite to it but was not chewy at all.
Overall, both sets were definitely quite delicious, with the beef set a bit more pleasant. The sides were okay, but nothing to write home about... the main dishes are what makes it worth coming back for more!
