Circle Tower was once the building where boyfriend used to come here for a drink with friends. I guess he wanted to remember the good old days so we decided to see if any of those old drinking spots were still around. Apparently not but we still decided to give one of them a try. 燒烤堂 (English Name: Skewer Kitchen) was what was decided upon. The menu is in Chinese only. There is no English. To order you check off what you want. They also have a decent drinks menu as well.

I didn't drink alcohol so I ordered an Iced Yuzu Honey ($22). Surprisingly they offered it in a regular beer glass as most places I've been to, they serve this in a small whisky glass. It was ok. Not too watered down most places. Plenty of yuzu added.

The staff informed us that they had a buy one get one free deal for Sapporo Draft ($48). Boyfriend ordered this and asked them to serve the second one when he's finished his first glass so it would be kept cold.

Eight Flavor American Beef ($28). This was served as two sticks so a very good bargain! The meat was tender. The seasoning was just right. Strong and good with a drink.

Grilled Taiwanese Puff Fish ($38). Boyfriend loves ordering this when we go to places like this. But most places are either over grilled and dry or just flavorless. This place was really good. It was like jerky with a nice sweet glaze on top.

Chicken Heart ($18). Butter Grilled Scallops ($34). I love chicken heart and I always order this. This place was pretty good. The chicken heart was still firm with that nice crisp bite. It was also layered in sweet teriyaki sauce. The scallops were grilled just right with a touch of buttery taste.

Chicken Skin Wrapped Cuttlefish Paste ($38).  Bacon Wrapped Quail Eggs ($26). Two items we took a chance on that we have never noticed before in other places like this. The chicken skin wrapped cuttlefish paste was surprisingly good. The chicken skin was so crispy and it was wrapped around a firm cuttlefish paste.  The bacon wrapped quail eggs were topped with nori and were a great little take on bacon and eggs.

Salt and Pepper Squid Mouth ($18). I love the mouth part of the squid. It's crunchy. And this was heavily seasoned as well.

Tsukune ($30). This was the only disappointing thing we ordered. The chicken mince meat was good and the flavorings were there. But I like it with more chicken cartilage mixed in for the crunchy textures.

Garlic Eggplant ($32).  A bit of veggie in our meal! The size of this was huge! The eggplant was soft with a very heavy handed garlic taste. It smelled fantastic. I didn't really like the skin as it was chewy but boyfriend loved it.

Honey Chicken Wings ($18). Nothing to complain about honey chicken wings. The meat was tender with a lovely sweet honey taste.

Lemon Honey Butter Toast ($20). Something to end the meal by ordering something to fill the tummy. Usually rice or noodles are in order. But we saw this on the menu and it was decided. Sweet, simple with a huge chunk of butter.

Okinawa Brown Sugar Cold Pineapple  ($18). We also wanted pineapple. They had two. The regular grilled version and this one where it said it was cold. Cold?  And it crazily worked. The pineapple was sweet and refreshing. The sugar coated on top was like crunchy crystal.

The food here was really excellent. It seemed almost everything we ordered, we were pleasantly surprised. Food comes out very fast as well. Prices not expensive at all.  Not overly noisy even though the place started to fill up later on. Another good thing is the staff actually informs you what the food is when they place it down and they are not trying to push you into ordering something expensive. They only informed us (and I noticed everyone else) about the beer deal and left you on your own. I appreciate that. Will be back!
