Living in Hong Kong I have come to realise that having high expectations in relation to western food will probably disappoint. I ordered the lunch special at the Tai Hang Bar & Grill, which included a soup, steak and a small dessert. The soup was ok, though a little watery, the steak was stringy and tough. After chewing on a ball of tough meat for several minutes and getting absolutely nowhere, I had to eject it from my mouth. When the waiter came to take my plate I shared with him my disappointment with the meal. He then asked would I like a fish burger? I told him I came here for a steak. He later asked if I would like a nasi goreng; he just didn't seem to get the point. If he had offered another steak I make have taken him up on such an offer, though perhaps the waiter had little confidence in the steaks they were serving. After the small portion of cake (which wasn't too bad), I left the restaurant still hungry. At least I now know where NOT to go for a decent steak.
