Despite booking a month earlier we ended up with a table outside the toilet in the hallway between the private rooms with no view and no decor - when we asked the staff told us we were lucky to get that table as normally there is a minimum charge. It was my dad’s 85th birthday and I had overseas visitors which the staff were aware.

The food came out in dribs and drabs and was barely warm. What made it worse was that the food was tasteless and disappointing. The portion sizes were on the small size and presentation was a bit hit and miss. The staples such as Xiao long bao were bland, scallion pancakes were greasy, Shanghai noodles were not hot and only had a soy sauce flavour. Some dishes were adequate such as the spare ribs and the crispy eel. We had asked the staff to follow up but no noticeable speed up on our order and we were just left alone to wait.

Generally a disappointing experience and the service was below par. It might be better if you are a regular but for us as first timers we were generally ignored. For example the birthday cake was unceremoniously presented without first asking if we wanted anything else. Given the location and prices, we were disappointed. We all thought the overall experience and food were bad and there are better places to go.
