As a big fan of Thai food, I will go around searching for Thai food in Hong Kong. This time round, we decided to go to a Muay Thai themed restaurant. Champion Thai restuarant was located at Causeway Bay, and is the first in Hong Kong combining Muay Thai and food. When we entered into the restaurant, it was filled with Muay Thai apparel and belts displaying on the wall, tables and chairs resembling Muay Thai equipment and TV screening boxing matches etc.
Their menu was very comprehensive, offering several selections from appetizers, noodles and rice, soup and seafood and desserts and drinks etc.
Shortly after we were seated, they served us a plate of prawn crackers. It was very crispy and slightly spicy. It was one of the better ones around.
Watermelon smoothie - As the weather was too hot recently, i need a drink to cool down. Watermelon smoothie was cool and refreshing, with real fruit used to blend the juice.
Spicy crab meat salad stuffed lychee - This salad was quite interesting as it used real crab meat to stuff into the lychee. The whole combination was quite good, as the sweet juice from the lychee help to balance off the spicy from the crab meat. There were vermicelli at the base of the bowl and it was smooth and chewy.
Pad thai - The serving was quite huge, with generous portion of prawns and vegetables. It was wrapped up with egg omelette and peanuts and lime were provided at the side. I requested for chilli powder as it was quite common in Thailand. The noodles were chewy and sticky and was spicy, which suited me.
Assorted coconut sago pudding - I enjoyed this dessert the most. The top was filled with coconut milk while the bottom was with sago. It was soft and smooth and the sago was chewy and sweet.
