Trying out Zhuoyuan for the first time, a relatively new Chinese restaurant that sits on the 15th floor of H Zentre overlooking Victoria Harbour. The restaurant incorporates modern Cantonese cuisine with traditional Chiu Chow cuisine to give diners a unique experience. Pic 1️⃣&2️⃣: 塘洋高湯金魚餃 / Goldfish Shaped Shrimp Dumpling (min. 2 pcs) - $28 hkd per piece 🦐🥟
— How adorable are these shrimp dumplings! 🥹 Wasn’t expecting this to taste that good but was pretty impressed! The shrimp was nicely seasoned and had a good chew to it. The dumpling wrapper was a little on the thick end, but the appearance of these dumplings make up for it 😂 The dumplings are sat in a light, clear chicken broth which gives it an extra bit of flavour.

Pic 3️⃣: 原隻鮑魚雞粒酥 / Shredded Chicken Puff with Whole Abalone - $88 hkd
— Flavours of the abalone were pretty good but not sure it was worth the price tag 😅 The tart was too sweet and eggy for something quite savoury and rich, and there was barely any chicken in this either. However, the abalone was well braised and absorbed all the flavours of the sauce, the texture was also quite tender.

Pic 4️⃣: 啤梨鹹水角 / Deep Fried Glutinous Rice Dumpling - $48 hkd 🍐
— Another cute looking dish! Pretty impressed with this dish as the cook on it was well executed, super crispy on the outside, whilst the glutinous rice was still nice and chewy on the inside. The minced pork and shrimp filling was well seasoned, and had a nice spicy aroma to it.

Pic 5️⃣: 羊肚菌上素腸 / Morels Rice Flour Roll - $78 hkd 🍄
— Slightly disappointing as the dish was quite bland and you cannot taste the morels at all. The soy sauce accompanying this was also very flavourless.

Pic 6️⃣: 椰皇棉花雞 / Steamed Chicken with Fish Maw in Coconut - $108 hkd
— Hearty, warm and flavourful dish. The coconut broth was impeccable and worked well with all of the other elements. Though well marinated, the chicken portions were underwhelming as we were served mostly bones.

Pic 7️⃣: 流沙紫薯包 / Lava Purple Sweet Potato Custard Bun - $50 hkd 🍠
— Buns were extremely tasty and steamed to perfection. Served nice and warm to your table, the purple sweet potato custard was super runny and lived up to its expectation. Loved that the filling was smooth and not overly sweet. It also had a really rich sweet potato flavour which was unexpected.

Pic 8️⃣: 懷舊馬拉糕 / Tai Chi Sponge Cake - $48 hkd
— Flavours were quite one dimensional, as it was quite sweet and lacked the usual deep roasted brown sugar flavour. However, the cake itself was very light and airy.

📍Ambiance: Grand interior, Seating is spacious, Staff are friendly
