Don’t know why it’s taken me so long to try out Pica Pica but I’m definitely returning! This contemporary tapas bar offers such a wide range of classic Spanish dishes that really bring me back to my time in Spain! 🇪🇸 Pic 1️⃣: Red Prawn Hotdog - $168 hkd 🌭🦐— Really good but definitely quite pricey for how tiny it is! Pic 1️⃣: Red Prawn Hotdog - $168 hkd 🌭🦐
— Really good but definitely quite pricey for how tiny it is! It’s good to try out though! I love how hot this is when it’s served to you, bun is nicely toasted and the carabinero with the perfect sear. They recommend you squeeze out all the goodness from the prawn head directly onto the hotdog for that flavour explosion and it’s definitely a step you cannot miss! This small bite is packed with flavour and the richness of the carabinero really shines through.


Pic 2️⃣: Classic Spanish Tortilla, Jamón Ibérico acorn fed - $135 hkd 🍳
— Really good tortilla but it had a slightly firmer texture than I’m used to. It’s really well seasoned and full of flavour but definitely could do with a bit more jamón ibérico!


Pic 3️⃣: Octopus Galician style on potato “al caliu” - $138 hkd 🐙
— Octopus was really tender but slightly on the salty side for me, but paired with the potatoes it was just right. The olive oil in this was really fragrant and helped bring the dish together.


Pic 4️⃣: Deboned suckling pig, sweet potato purée, raw spinach - $175 hkd 🐷
— The suckling pig was really juicy and tender, but could’ve done with a bit more sauce. I wasn’t a huge fan of the sweet potatoes though as I thought they were a bit too acidic and didn’t really go well with the flavours of the suckling pig.


Pic 5️⃣: Ajillo Prawns - $172 hkd 🍤🌶
— Good dish to start off with! Not overly spicy but still quite flavourful. Comes with slices of toasted baguette for you to dip into!


Pic 6️⃣: Basque Burnt Cheesecake, red berries sorbet - $78 hkd 🧀🍰
— Heard so many good things about this cheesecake and honestly I was a bit underwhelmed 😅 The flavours were good but it lacked creaminess and was too firm (previous images made it look so soft and creamy!) However, the red berries sorbet was really delicious and fresh.
