I had passed by the restaurant a few times but never got the chance to check it out until they posted a Groupon offer for their lunch buffet. I decided to try their lunch buffet on a weekday. I had passed by the restaurant a few times but never got the chance to check it out until they posted a Groupon offer for their lunch buffet. I decided to try their lunch buffet on a weekday.

The buffet had all the popular curry choices. I always use butter chicken and rogan josh (lamb curry) as a benchmark between Indian restaurants. I found Jashan's offering to be very well-tuned. I could really taste the spices while I think there was less oil than many. I also tried their Mango Lassi which was quite refreshing with the curry. The mango and yogurt were blended really well and didn't find it to be particularly too sweet. I really recommend their buffet over dinner as you get to try many selections.

The service was excellent despite arriving 30 minutes later than my original reservation time (rainy weather, bad traffic). We were seated almost right away. However I must note that I saw a bug on our seat, which the waitress immediately removed and apologized. It wasn't a big deal and showed their level of courtesy.

I am biased towards the value because I had obtained a Groupon offer for $50 per head. Otherwise the regular price is $98 for the buffet + 1 drink. Even for $98 I feel it is quite unbeatable especially when that is the cost of a meal in a food court in Central. The quality of this restaurant can easily price in the range for $200.

If you are looking for exotic Indian food with great value, I recommend Jashan.
