Time to get real. The vaunted apple pie here is mediocre at best. The crust is the same crust used for your typical chicken pot pie (in fact, they use the same crust here for savory pies). The filling is thin and watery - it is very obvious that they use poor quality apples. There is a weak attempt to sweeten the filling with raisins, but there are not enough of them to make up for the tasteless apples. No cinnamon. The ratio of filling to crust is way too low. There is a weak attempt to sweeten the filling with raisins, but there are not enough of them to make up for the tasteless apples. No cinnamon. The ratio of filling to crust is way too low. You can pick up a more authentic apple pastry at pretty much any French bakery around (order a tarte aux pommes or croissant aux pommes in a proper bakery). There are so many great restaurants in Tai Po, don't waste your precious stomach and calorie capacity here.
