Finally managed to get a highly sought-after table at Chaat❗️Recognized as one of the best Indian restaurants in town and notoriously difficult to book. The food is indeed very good, bringing the complex also well-balanced Indian flavors in a more elegant delicate manner, but it’s not as mind blowing and magnificent as many proclaimed. Maybe my expectation was too high? It’s tasty enough for a revisit IF ONLY I can get a table without the frantic booking fuzz. The snack crisp is heavily spiced wit

The snack crisp is heavily spiced with cumin and some chili where the heat kicks in at the back. The mango chutney is SO TASTY, if only I could buy a jar of it to spread on bread 🤤

Baked samosa $168
the signature cone samosa and it’s completely vegetarian, the shredded jackfruit perfectly disguised as the ‘meat’, tasted meaty and carried the complex spices and sauces very well. The cone is crisp and a light sour yogurt balanced it all.

What’s presented in a beautiful fried puff ‘shell’ is meant to be smashed and mixed together, getting down dirty and messy is the way to best enjoy it. The tamarind flavors dominated at first, bursting with a sweet and sour tasty note but the hot chili spice slowly kicks in in the aftertaste. Such a multi-layered flavorful and textural dish, definitely a must-order!

Chaat Tandoori $798 (2-3 person)
Beef Kebab, Chicken Tikka, Fish Tikka, Lamb Chop
The lamp chop is absolutely perfectly grilled, and the beef cheek is so good, incredibly tender with rich beef flavor. The chicken is a bit dry and I’ve had better fish tikka elsewhere. Recommend their lamp and beef.

What a creamy luscious curry, and surprisingly not spicy but a rich deep curry flavor with tomato sweetness. It’s addictively tasty, together with the garlic naan is just unstoppable. The chicken is much more succulent in this.

Garlic naan $88
Freshly made garlic naan, crispy puffy edges with a bit chewiness, very on point but not the best naan I’ve had.

Despite being a restaurant at Rosewood, it’s quite generous in food portion and reasonably priced which is another reason warranting a second visit (again if I can get a table..🙄)
