I was their hotel member and got a promotion email about their wine pairing dinner and being waived the 10% service charge. So I went to give it a try, despite I am not a wine drinker. I tried 7 types of wine in total. I admit I know nothing so my review mainly will be focusing on the service and the food.  All I can say is the wine tasted good and the usual bitterness of red wine was absent in the three red wines they serve, making me realize not all reds have to be bitter. It's the first time I

It's the first time I saw so many glasses at once on my table. We had two welcome drinks  while they served the bread. The first batch of bread was a bit cold and hard but the second batch was warm and soft.

Please note these are two different white wines. I found it strange as this was a wine pairing dinner so I expected the food to be served closely, if not the same time as the wine. However, by the time they poured the second type of white wine, the first dish still wasn't served yet.

The sauce tasted great but my fish was a bit overcooked so it was a bit hard.

The wine and food finally matched up to speed when they reached the pigeon. I was a bit worried as the fish was hard. Surprisingly my pigeon was perfectly cooked and the risotto was al dente, remaining a bit firm which I like(so this may not be suitable for those who like a more supple risotto)

The Wagyu...OMG. It was the star of the menu. It melted in my mouth and the pommes anna was buttery without being too oily. This totally made me forgive the fish

I love the dessert wine the most (since I like sweets the most). Its called a double layer cheesecake but I can't taste the difference between the two layers. Overall, it was a good dessert but not smashing.

Last of all, Coffee. For a hotel, I just can't believe they don't have decaffeinated coffee. The coffee tasted great but I am just saying some of us at dinner really would like decaffeinated.

I thought the food would be introduced a bit more during the service but besides the name of the dish, the servers didn't elaborate much. I will still give it a great review for the wagyu and the wine(they all tasted great but the reds in this dinner were able to change my mind about reds). I hope the fish will be cooked better in the future.
Other Info. : I gave flavor 4 stars but if I need to break it down, starters 4, fish 2, pigeon 4, wagyu 5, dessert 4. So overall around 4. If there was decaffeinated coffee, I would have gave 4 stars for the service instead of 3.
