We tried the Fats Beat menu with free flow Sake, the quality of the food is good, but we are very disappointed about the portion of the menu and services. All the posts on OpenRice are about how fulfilling the Fats Beat menu is, so we definitely go for the menu. All the posts on OpenRice are about how fulfilling the Fats Beat menu is, so we definitely go for the menu. But I was shocking how small the portion is. We have a group of 3, but everything looks like for 2 in portion for starters.

What is more shocking, we were told we are done for tonight, after having small portion of Edamame, Cabbage Salad, Fried Squid, Hamachi TMK, and 2 rolls. Himachi TMK is literally 1 piece per person and Fried squid is precisely 2 pieces per person. I am not sure about the pricing for rolls, but by looking at the menu, those starters are only costing HKD300ish, but what we paid for is HKD348 per person for 3…..

I saw people sharing Wagyu Takaki and Katsu-San for the menu, but neither of the items were served.

After we complained, they gave us 2 Salmon Takaki and 1 more roll and told us “hopefully this is good enough”.

For Sake free flows, we also have to remind the restaurant, otherwise no glasses/Sake were served.

All in all, I will still recommend the place, but just do A la carte, forget about the Fats Beat Menu. It doesn’t beat even beat girls…
