Dinner in the private room. One of the best private rooms I’ve come across- view was great, seating very comfortable (prob cd seat ard 8 pre dining restrictions). Despite its name, this restaurant is not just about beef. They do a very good seasonal menu too. Our menu consisted of 50% beef and 50% other stuff. First to come was the 毛蟹 on some vinegar jelly. Then came the eel. Not normally a fan of eel either but I loved it. The skin was so so crispy and no trace of those tiny bones (tho edible) that I hated. Extra touch was the 山橈 on the eel. Went well together.

Next we were given 3 types of sashimi: buri, uni and 白蝦. Fresh.

Then came the deep fried 飛驒牛 with white asparagus. Very juicy and not oily at all. (That’s when 眼闊肚窄 decided to encore by ordering the beef sandwich- which was made with the same part of beef).

Next came a bowl of seasonal stuff which included the 螢光魷魚。So yummy I ate here as well.

Tenderloin sandwich which wasn’t originally on the menu came next. Had to open my mouth very wide to squeeze everything in. Same juicy tenderloin with added brown sauce.

Server fired up the grill and started preparing our entree, comprising various cuts of beef including ox tongue, shoulder, rib eye, etc. Server explained that Japan did not allow for exports of 和牛ox tongue so they had to find Australian ones with similar quality.

I tried to hard to remember the rest of what server was explaining as she skillfully grilled the beef and directed which of the 3 sauces we should dip... but there was just way too much alcohol.....

Even tho I was practically bursting when the 釜飯 arrived, I finished all. Very flavorful, with bamboo shoots.

Milk ice cream as dessert. He asked if he could have another one and server happily obliged.
In summary, yummy fun night. Owner seems passionate about introducing only the freshest ingredients to customers. Beef was high quality. Would def return.
