Pretty quiet here on a weekday afternoon, tables were available straight away. There's not actually many tables left after social distancing so it was fortunate.Ordered the Chinese style meat pie, pork with chinese pickled vegetable ($26) and medium flat noodle with spicy and numbing soup, with chicken ($46).The meat pie was nice and crunchy, with a flaky pastry that also had a nice chew. Ordered the Chinese style meat pie, pork with chinese pickled vegetable ($26) and medium flat noodle with spicy and numbing soup, with chicken ($46).
The meat pie was nice and crunchy, with a flaky pastry that also had a nice chew. The pork was a bit dry, and the pickled vegetable was overly salty in this combination, but overall it was an ok appetiser. The serve is large, and cut into 2, so it's ideal to share with another because it's a bit too much to eat it all by yourself if also having a noodle dish.
The noodles were smooth and chewy, and had the appearance of fettuccine, but better. The spicy soup hung onto the thick noodles so well - soon I was swimming in a numbing-spicy stupor and could no longer feel my face. The noodles are accompanied by oyster mushrooms, bean sprouts and a few lettuce leaves.
Although I had trouble eating the whole portion, which was quite plentiful, I felt myself continually going back for more, even when thought I'd had enough. One more bite...one more bite...one more bite. Before I knew it, I had finished the whole bowl and my tummy had doubled in size.
Mostly I'm happy with the hand made noodles. Eating them felt like a warm hug on a cold winter's day. Yum!
