In search of a nice lunchspot other than the usual suspects in Central/Admiralty and thought I would give this a try after reading some good reviews.I am usually fairly hard to please, but was pleasantly surprised by the quality at Akrame (didn't realise it was a Michelin until afterwards). They do a surprise menu, so you can only choose whether you would like a 3-course (fish or meat main) or 4-course (fish and meat) meal. I went for the 3-course (meat). The mouche bouche was a little disappoint

The mouche bouche was a little disappointing (both aesthestically and portion-wise).
Starter was a decent caviar, radish soup. Nice kick in terms of taste despite how thin the soup base was. Hats-off to the chef who came out to pour the soup! Was still not quite convinced after the starter, but they got me as soon as I cut into the duck breast in the main course. The duck breast was soft, succulent, and cooked to perfection. The taste of the turnips on the side were a little overwhelming for me but some may find it refreshing to balance duck. The potato mousse was light and fluffy. Well-made. I was just about to wonder whether I needed to grab a burger to fill my stomach after the "fine-dining" meal when the real surprise came. Two sets of deserts that were perfectly made and balanced. Not to mention the final complimentary chocolates to complete the meal. I walked out of the restaurant not fully satisfied, physically and mentally. Dear chef, you've got me. Would definitely come again.
