Another birthday celebration! This time it was a mate’s birthday and our trio wanted somewhere more laidback but with great food. Atmosphere was chilled, service was great and food was amazing. Pici has a no reservations policy but for those who can’t get a table, their take away is just as good (trust me - I often order their takeaway to avoid dining in due to Covid 😂)We decided to go with the tasting menu since we all wanted entree’s, mains and dessert. We decided to go with the tasting menu since we all wanted entree’s, mains and dessert. Between the three of us for $290 each ($870 in total), we had 3 entrees, 4 pastas and 3 desserts.
When the pasta of the day and tagliolini with truffles arrived, it was very “soft” and felt overcooked. One of the staff told us that’s how it’s suppose to be which shocked us all (we’re all massive foodies who are willing to break the bank and sell a kidney just for great food) but this was taken care of extremely quickly by the manager. He came by to ask if everything was okay and when we expressed our shock, not only was he super understanding, he made it adamant it is his goal to ensure all customers leave the establishment feeling satisfied with both the service and the food. With the pasta redone at al dente and the professional yet friendly service, this hiccup didn’t damper our experience at all but instead, made our experience even better due to how it was handled and resolved.
Meatballs
Burrata - so fresh, soooo good!
Hand-cut Pappardelle with Pork Ragu - hands down my favourite!
Orecchiette Nduja - this was very unique and tasted amazing
Pasta of the day
Tagliolini with Truffles
For dessert, we ordered tiramisu and panda cotta.
For our entrees, we also had a tuna tartare which I forgot to take photos of 😂
Definitely will be coming back even if it’s not for a special occasion. We did order a bottle of Prosecco to make it a bit more special so our bill ended up at $1290 between 3 adults. Pici is probably one of my favourite Italian restaurants in Hong Kong.
