It was our first time trying this newly opened Japanese restaurant and it sure was a delightful experience! 😃We booked the place in advance although it wasn't too full during a weekday lunch hour. My friend's basic requirements for our gathering place were fresh food, decent service, reasonable price and a quiet place for us to chat. Maizuru certainly exceeded way above her "basic" expectations. We were offered a comfortable restaurant booth as our table and were greeted warmly by the restaurant
We booked the place in advance although it wasn't too full during a weekday lunch hour. My friend's basic requirements for our gathering place were fresh food, decent service, reasonable price and a quiet place for us to chat. Maizuru certainly exceeded way above her "basic" expectations. We were offered a comfortable restaurant booth as our table and were greeted warmly by the restaurant manager, then taking the time to explain their menu, seasonal fish of the day, and their omakase lunch set (app. $488) which was not listed on their menu. (The manager told us dinner omakase was $1100+)
We debated whether to choose the self select 8-piece or 12-piece self-select sushi lunch set, and all 3 of us decided to first try their former ($220). Luckily, we did! because we were all too stuffed after finishing the set (and we were not small-eaters!) 😃
In short, the sushi were perfect in size, fish and uni were sweet and fresh, the rice portion remained intact while picking it up with our chopsticks. Steamed egg was very smooth and the Inaniwa udon could literally slide down your throat! 👍👍👍😃
We were already talking about our next gathering at this restaurant again! Well done, Maizuru!👏👏👏😃
