Frequenting many restaurants over the years in Hong Kong, I've learned to keep the bar for Mediterranean restaurants a bit low, but La Rosabelle just takes the crapcake.Entering into an almost empty room (lone table of 2 in the corner), I was expecting a quick take out job which turned out to be a bit of a circus.The server/cashier, besides being rude and uninterested, kept telling us to look at the menu even though we had told her what we wanted to order. Entering into an almost empty room (lone table of 2 in the corner), I was expecting a quick take out job which turned out to be a bit of a circus.
The server/cashier, besides being rude and uninterested, kept telling us to look at the menu even though we had told her what we wanted to order. Orders were shouted to the back kitchen, while the bartender watched while sniffling and blowing her nose in quite a nice baritone sound for the whole room to hear.
speaking of unsanitary, this is when the lone cook decides to come out and start unloading the days deliveries into the kitchen, as well as bringing out old dirty boxes and giving them to the delivery guy. The kicker being, she kept her gloves on the entire team, proceeding to keep the same gloves on and go back inside the kitchen! Seeing her through the window I immediately asked her to change her gloves, resulting in her yelling at me that she “rinsed them with water therefore they are no clean”...yuck.
Keep in mind that while she was unloading the boxes, there was no one cooking in the kitchen. My simple chicken wrap (cold stale pitas bread, extremely mayonnaise-y sauce) ended up being a 40minute stay.
Oh, and to top it all off, the chicken in the wrap was still wooden skewered. Big yikes.
Avoid this place like you'd avoid the coronavirus.
