Softie visited @piratagrouphk newest establishment @thesixteenthhk . OVERALL: Not gonna lie, Softie wasn’t the biggest fan of Pirata restaurants but La Favorita is making her re-think. As usual, the restaurant was nicely decorated and very on-theme. Seating was also comfortable and was decently private. The service was great as we got a very attentive server.
DISHES:
🥩 Fancy Beef Tartare: Fancy is RIGHT. Beef tartare is paired with a creamy truffle sauce that truly elevates the dish. YUM.
🦑 Calamri Fritti: The portion size was bigger than expected. Very crispy and the lemon juice cuts through the oiliness of the dish.
🦐 Mediterranean Seafood Stew: Classic seafood stew in tomato sauce. What blew our mind was the “soggy” or shall we say “flavorful” bread that was soaked in the dish. It soaks up all the sauce of the stew. A lil too soggy for Softie’s liking though 😅
🦀 Gran King Crab Chitarra: Ok so Softie thought the crab meat was only in the legs but there’s plenty in the pasta dish as well. The dish was slightly salty but it might be the ~freshness~ of the sea flavor from the crab.
🐮Bistecca Alla Fiorentina: Can you really go wrong with T-bone steak? Cooked medium rare with the boeuf jus to go with it. Very indulgent.
🍨Tiramisu: I’m sorry but @picihk ‘s tiramisu is absolute trash but THIS!? THIS IS AMAZING. I don’t understand how the same group can deliver something so different but don’t hold back on ordering this.
🍋Lemon Sorbet: A lil sweet for my liking but cute presentation.
